Do I need to get approval from the authority to install the electric fence?
Yes, You can get approval from the Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia(Malaysian Energy Commission).
The owner of the premises is required to register and submit an application to Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia.
The owner of the premises may appoint a contractor to assist the application.
The Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Malaysian Energy Commission) will review applications through system specifications and installation procedures in accordance with the guidelines.
Officer will issue approval letter for installation and approval letter for operation upon approval of site inspection test report.
The owner should refer to the Local Authority Council for any renovation of the building which is contrary to the specifications of the local authority council.

Electric fence is required to install on a physical fence at a height of more than 1.5 meters.
Installation of electric fences below 1.5m should be for private areas only (no public areas).
Endorse technical drawings of Electric Fences by Registered Competent by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.

Energizer will produce a shock of less than 5 Joules (Non-lethal shock), 9000 Vdc voltage output in an average of 1 second (1ms pulse) through the entire electric fence wire.
